Legends tell of a man so possessed with his thirst for knowledge that he would wrestle a rampaging gorax, ride bareback on a dracodile, and pluck the spines off a sleeping spine ripper - just to get to know them better. By any normal standards, Professor Viktor Pendrake is utterly mad. By heroic standards he is a fearless adventuring scholar as comfortable in halls of Corvis University as he is in the lair of a dire troll.
